Last month, we announced the launch of our 80th anniversary fundraising campaign, The MRJ Way. Mary Ranken Jordan (or MRJ) was known to say, "Consider the children first in all that you do." Her mission was a simple one, and we strive each day to live out her words. Through the MRJ Way campaign, we're reconnecting with the passions and purpose of our philanthropic founder.

Our next goal in the MRJ Way campaign is to raise $32,468 for our rehabilitation experts to purchase specific equipment to meet each child's needs. Sometimes insurance does not cover the cost of this rehabilitation equipment or make it available quickly enough. These delays can prolong inpatient stays and can potentially lead to further complications such as orthopedic deformities. The equipment kids need includes custom-made splints, specialized bath chairs that enable patients to shower in our accessible bathrooms, wheelchair accessories, and much more. Your gift this month toward our goal of $32,468 will be used to buy this rehabilitative equipment and deploy it for immediate benefit.

JAEDEN'S STORY

Jaeden is a determined teenager. When he experienced a spinal cord injury from a gun shot wound, he was bedridden and unable to walk. After months of hospitalizations and therapy sessions, Jaeden is walking again. He was so proud to show off that he could stand unassisted that he requested we take this photo to show his progress. What you cannot see are the braces on his ankles that help him do this. Because of generous donations like yours, we are able to purchase the braces for kids like Jaeden when insurance cannot.
